Combatting the COVID-19 pandemic through technology

The Institute

Utility Stores Corporation is a state-owned enterprise with around 6000 stores nationwide. It is one of the most penetrated grocery store chains across Pakistan with an efficient distribution system.

The Problem

During COVID, equitable distribution of food items became a daunting challenge globally. In developing countries such as Pakistan, it was a particularly hard task to ensure that food supplies were delivered to the farthest areas, without any discrimination.

The Intervention

Through SyntracX Relief, a platform featuring mobile app and web dashboard, SyntecX provided Utility Stores with a gateway to ensure fair and gracious distribution of relief items to the masses across Pakistan. The process was expedited through the database and food items were provided to the public within close vicinity of their homes and within prescribed rationing, eliminating the need for the public to stand in queues.
